About Ayuko

Ayuko Inoue has passion for the garden as a beautiful, well-organized space, a pleasure to look at, and a comfortable, relaxing place to live. In her gardens, each season exhilarates, with nature, beautiful flowers dancing in the sunshine, and shades of green soothing your soul.

She combines multiple aesthetics: from her cultural education in Japan, to life in England and annual visits to Italy, particularly its countryside. She believes that the style of the garden comes from the house, the lifestyle and the taste of her clients. Ayuko does not impose her own ideas, but rather makes recommendations during the course of initial discussion.

Ayuko studied garden design in the English Gardening School based in the Chelsea Physic Garden, London, England, a garden design school for professionals.

She has also taught at VanDusen Botanical Gardens, at School Board night schools in South Surrey, Vancouver and North Vancouver, and she speaks to garden clubs.

Ayuko operates her design company, Gardens by Design, in the Lower Mainland and the Sunshine Coast, and coordinates construction by landscapers.
